We’ve Been Building For Over 20 years
Installing Seawalls in West Palm Beach
Seawalls can be more complex than one might think. Every panel must be buried a minimum of 40%-50% of the seawall bed. Sea-walls are not hammered into place, but are positioned by agitating the sand.
We place deadman anchors at least every 10 feet to hold the seawall to the landward side. The anchors are pressed about 15 feet down into the below the surface. To prevent rusting, these deadman anchors should be made from epoxy-coated steel rebar. They are also covered with a poly pipe sleeves. The concrete cap of the sea-wall is preserved by sealing the end of the rebar that is attached to the seawall cap.
On most of our jobs, we pour our seawall caps on-site and then tie the multiple components together. Palm Beach Seawall Services often reinforces the top with extra structural skeletal support to its seawall cap by employing custom-stirrup-shaped steel rebar.
